Welcome to Xian

Pounced Sian, an important city in Chinese history. Xian was the capital city of China during 13 dynasties including Tang, more details at Wikipedia. On entering the city, stern faced guards dressed as they would have been from the Tang dynasty greet tourists at the gatehouse.

After being presented with a golden key to the city gates (alas, not chocolate) the actors welcome visitors with a show of might, some fancy flag swinging and some dancing. All very colourful.
